Welcome to the Tyneside Wargames Club Blog

This is the blog of the Tyneside Wargames Club, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Here we will be posting game reports from the Club, photos, reviews. Anything wargames related really! We also have a Forum (see link above) and a Club Website which has some general 'who, what, where' information about the club.

To the right you'll see links to other blogs we follow, our followers and members and various wargames related sites we think you might be interested in.

We hope you enjoy the content and feel free to leave comments or drop over to the Forum if you want to join the discussions.

Or better still, if you are local or visiting the area, come down one Saturday and join in a game!

  3. Hi Paul,

Next meeting will not be until after the Border Reiver Show(3rd September) so on Sat 10th September.

If you can drop me an email to tynesidewargames AT gmail DOT com we can try and arrange something.

There is no 'official' age limit and a few of the guys bring their kids along some Saturdays. I assume you would come along too?

    Cheers

  4. Hi,

I have just moved to Newcastle and I would like to start a science fiction book club. I was wondering if any of your members would be interested in attending.

The first book is William Gibson’s Neuromancer with the first meeting on Monday 26th September at 7:30 at the Chinese Drink Express on 1 Cross Street, NE1 4XE. After which anyone else could suggest the next book to read. For more information contact me on 07525752560 or thomaswhitbread@googlemail.com

I would really appreciate it if you could forward it to all of your members.

    Regards

    Thomas Whitbread

  8. Hi Philip,

Nice to hear from you. There are a few younger members at the club so it should be possible to sort something out. And there are a couple of people interested in the American Revolution as well. If you drop an email to the club email address I can pass on some info and maybe get someone at the club to contact you. Address is tynesidewargames@gmail.com.

Look forward to hearing from you

  9. Hi
I was trying out the WW2 Skirmish Rules, and noticed the solo AFV charts do not provide for the AFVs open g fire. The infantry solo table does. Have I missed something?
    Regards
    Mike

  10. Hi V!
I intend for AFV's to shoot during their sides movement/action phase. As for infantry, they would shoot at the most convenient point during their move.
As for targeting, under the solo vehicle action chart, it states: 'A.F.V.s will attempt to shoot at the most threatening target, but main guns will always shoot at the nearest enemy AFV / Anti-tank gun in preference to other targets.'

I hope this clarifies things a bit?

  11. Hello, Can you help please? Due to ill health we have a lot of wargaming figures and other items that we need to sell. Can you contact me through a comment on here to see if anyone is interested. My father in law was a very keen wargamer for many years and has built up a considerable stock.

  13. Just a thank you for your free rules. Here in north Devon a small group of us have just started to use your Colonial rules....with added mods concerning Gatling/Garner guns and a card/unit driven game sequence.
