Happy New Year

Happy New Year, enjoy lots of good wargaming fun!
Thought I'd post a little update. The next meeting will be on the 11th September as the 4th will be taken up with the Border Reiver Show at Newcastle Arena. I'm sure the Club will be putting on a game but I don't have the details yet.
[EDIT] The game will apparently be a Thirty Years War game using amended Great Captains rules.
There have been a few additions to the Downloads page for Richard's rules, the latest being a Late Medieval Supplement.
Look forward to seeing everyone there and to the resumptions of games next month - assuming I manage to get down to play any!
Cheers
Andy
I'm told there is no meeting tomorrow as the Church Hall is in use.
Andy
There will be no club meeting on Saturday 13th March 2010 as the hall is in use by another organisation.
Cheers
The meeting this coming Saturday (28th) is cancelled. The hall is being used for other purposes and hopefully most people will be at SMOGGYCON in Middlesbrough.
See you all on the 12th
Tyneside Wargames Club will be putting on a display game of the Battle of Neville's Cross at SMOGGYCON on November 28th using 15mm figures and the club's Great Captain rules.
Come along and have a chat and see how the rules work.
See you there!
I've just added Richard's (Herkybird) Medieval Skirmish Rules to the Downloads page here.
Let us know what you think!

Due to the venue being needed for another group there will be no Club Meeting on 26th September. Normal service will resume the following week.
Read more...Richard Bradley's Seven Years War rules are now in the download section. Army lists for Seven Years War and American War of Independence to follow...
Enjoy!
I've just added Richard's Artillery Supplement to his assorted rules. It's on the download page...

Richard says:
The system arose from a wild thought I had that a solo system could be developed which combined morale and movement in one die roll to speed things up. Also, I wanted a game where the player character was 1 man and he had to actually shout orders to his minions, to stop them doing their own thing!
Originally the system was devised for French and Indian war games (IE Last of the Mohicans et al!) – and included casualties in the same chart. After some game play we found it was stretching things a bit, so the current system was developed.
Many of my skirmish sets use the same system, but they have to have their own Action chart. Incidentally, the weapon ranges are designed for each set, so you can't have ECW dragoons being shot down by Martini-henry rifles in the colonial set!
I was thinking that I should describe the play system in more detail, but I am curious if someone from outside our club could work it out from the rules themselves?
So here are the rules – without any extensive pre-amble! – you can post any comments/questions here and I'll endeavor to answer them.
Let us know what you think...
Just though I'd make passing traffic aware of the show next weekend. Details here.
Who from the Club is going? And can anyone post on what the Club demo game is going to be please?
Andy
The first of Richard's Rules are now available in the downloads section.
The Members page has been updated to show the blog member profiles.
The Tyneside Wargames Website is now live. I still need more content for some of the pages, especially Napoleonic related and Campaigns, so any input much appreciated guys! If you have any suggestions use the feedback form on the website or post here or the Forums.
See you all at Border Reiver.

Anyone with Author status on the blog can post, and post (within reason!) what they like. However, it would be useful if all posts could follow some basic guidelines regarding labels. This is mainly because the website will link to posts of particular types. For instance, the British Grenadier page will link to all pages with 'british grenadier' and 'AAR' for game reports for those rules. Likewise, if someone is running a campaign it can be labelled as '15mm, great captain, campaign, punic war' and the website will link to all posts.
So to start with can we try the following, please?
This is the blog of the Tyneside Wargames Club, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Here we will be posting game reports from the Club, photos, reviews. Anything wargames related really! We also have a Forum (see link above) and a Club Website which has some general 'who, what, where' information about the club.
To the right you'll see links to other blogs we follow, our followers and members and various wargames related sites we think you might be interested in.
We hope you enjoy the content and feel free to leave comments or drop over to the Forum if you want to join the discussions.
Or better still, if you are local or visiting the area, come down one Saturday and join in a game!
